I'm Gustavo Girard, an AI Design Engineer who designs the product and ships the front-end code behind it with Claude Code: AI products, design systems, and prototypes built in React instead of static mockups.

I design products end-to-end, from fuzzy problem spaces to pixel tight interfaces. I obsess over systems that scale, rhythm in interaction, and the small stuff that separates shipping from shipping well.
Currently an AI Design Engineer at Arena, where I started as a Product Designer in 2022. I build creator & community tooling used by top media brands. My focus there: realistic, functional prototypes built with AI, micro animations that bring them to life, and evolving the company's design system.
The titles changed along the way: years as a UX/UI Designer, then Product Designer at Arena, now AI Design Engineer. Some teams call it AI Product Designer. The job underneath is the same: I shape the flow, then ship the real UI with Claude Code on top of a design system, instead of handing off static mockups.
On the side, I build my own products in finance and fitness.
